Necromancer Shadowbound Armor

Syllina will make shadowbound armor for necromancers. She makes 3 kinds: boots, gloves and a robe. In addition, she will tell you how to make shadow silk for 50gp.

Armor:

ShadowBound Boots:

  1. One Shadow silk
  2. One Scepter of tears (from Castle Mistmoore) *
  3. One Eye of shadow (from Shadowmen)
  4. One Skeletal toe (from Giant Skeletons in Rathe mountains)

ShadowBound Gloves:

  1. One Inky Shadow silk
  2. One Scepter of Sorrow (from Lower Guk)
  3. One Hand of shadow (from Shadowmen)
  4. One Skeletal finger (from Giant Skeletons in Rathe mountains)

Robe of Enshroudment:

  1. One Large Shadow silk
  2. One Werebat wing (from Unrest)
  3. One Mask of shadow (Shadowmen)
  4. One Globe of shadow (Nokta - Shaman in guk)

 

Shadow Silk Recipes:

Regular:

1 Silk swatch

1 Shadow wolf pelt

1 Gather shadow scroll

Combine in a large tailoring kit.

 

Inky Shadow silk:

1 Silk swatch

1 Shadow wolf pelt

2 Gather shadow scroll

Combine in a large tailoring kit.

 

Large Shadow silk:

1 Silk swatch

2 Shadow wolf pelt

1 Gather shadow scroll

Combine in a large tailoring kit.

Note: I was able to make the basic shadow silk with a 26 skill in tailoring, with a 50% success rate (1 in 2 tries).

 

Items:

Scepter of Sorrow:

In lower Guk: The easiest way to find it is to zone into undead side, go down ramp and take a left. You will come to a little hole and there will be a spiral staircase leading up the right side of the wall. There is a room on the right at the top. The scepter spawns on the bearskin.

BTW, you will have to fight about 6 frogs to get there. If you know how to zone in from upper by swimming to the zone, you won't have to fight anything.

Notes: Currently, the scepter comes unnamed.

Scepter of Tears from the Tomb in Castle Mistmoore:

Ok here is what you do: Gather shadows and go to the graveyard - Gated area to the right (a little ways) of the MM entrance. (If you are invisible and nothing undead is around, you will be fine-Generally nothing undead is around unless it's been trained out of the castle or other areas). Go inside the crypt and you will see (unless someone else just picked it up - It spawns fairly quick - it is a quest item for other classes too) a small bag on top of the coffin. Click on it and you will see that it is a flower. Take the flower back behind the crypt to Ssynithi (sp?). She is a shadowman with a book. She wants the flower, so give it to her, click the flower on the book she is holding. In return you get the scepter, also you will sometimes only get a scepter, unnamed, which will not work for the quest. All in all (Despite the traveling for our blue brothers and sisters): A VERY easy quest.

The scepter is a NO DROP LORE ITEM but it does not disappear when you camp.

WARNING: Approach the coffin head on. Do not go to the sides! If you do, you fall into a room below. Now getting out is very easy. There are fake walls (Do not open the doors!) they take you right back out into the GY. It is more annoying than anything.

Notes: You are no longer invisible once you give her the flower or even pick up the flower... hide, gate, or cast GS again. Currently, the scepter comes unnamed.

Werebat wing:

If you're not a lvl 30 Necro, then obtaining this one may be difficult. However, I did it by going to Unrest (an odd place) and asking someone to kill a werebat for me and let me loot the bat. Invisibility VS. Undead is a BEAUTIFUL thing inside the house. Only been in once at lvl 18, but nothing bothered me with Invis VS. Undead.  Looted the bat, got a high lvl word in the process, and boogied, going invis vs. undead before hand... : ) . This item is a No Drop Lore.

Skeletal toe and finger:

If you're not a lvl 24+ Necro, you may want to go into the Rathe mountains (well you have to anyway) and look for a party hunting the giant skeletons/ogres. Generally they will leave the unlooted items they can't use on the bodies, but ask if you can loot a finger and a toe. They are no drop lore...

Shadowmen items:

Hand of Shadow, Eye of Shadow, Mask of Shadow

At this time, I know nothing about obtaining these items, other then they can be bought/traded (They are not No Drop), BUT they will disappear when you log out.  Pick these up last!  I only know you can't run from a Shadowman, and they con WAY easier then they are.  Somewhere around 25th lvl they con blue, but no 25th level can stand toe to toe with just even one.
